When you get start putting swings on it a lot. My daughters seems like its gonna be a long break in. Her Mantra was the same way. I've been putting some swings on it off the tee from time to time at home. My question is my daughter is 9 using a 30" bat so how hard should I swing it when hitting off the tee. I would say I probably swing it maybe 30%. Should I open up and swing it pretty hard or will that hurt it.

certain weights arent produced as much as others or produced as often...which leads to backorders.

Also because most bats arent made here...so you have to add that into the equation.

Good luck. Shouldn't be long on the Ghost replacement, I have had 5 on my teams this summer and all had new bats within 10 days of shipping out the broken one. Now if it is a 34 then that is for some reason taking months but given the age and size she should not be anywhere near a 34.

Thanks, she's a 32/22. Just needs one of the two for fall ball!

From my experience this isnt a bat you run purchase during a tournament and expect results immediately. My DDs is just now starting to open up a little. Probably has 350-400 or more cuts on it but half are from a 9 year old. The Mantra she has is the same way. She prefers the Meta since it seems more balanced and much lighter. Seems the bats that take a longer break in tend to hold up better. Everybody buys a ghost and then says dont use them for BP but why have a bat you cant practice with.

”why have a bat you cant practice with”

why weaken a bat with meaningless swings? My daughter always has a practice bat and game bat because she wants to get the most out of her game bat and this is why she typically gets 7-10 months out of her ghosts when others take it to hit off machines and use it for practice and then have it break within a few months.

plus, if she is getting way better performance with the bat than any other bat (without having to “open it up through beating it up”) why weaken it with meaningless swings?

have 3 girls get meta as soon as it came out, one was an Lxt girl, one a Demarini girl, and other a ghost girl. Ghost ditched the meta within a week, other 2 are still trying, the Lxt girl not overly optimistic, Demarini girl loves it.

I am waiting for fall season to kick into gear so we can actually get some real data on it from live pitching and see how durable it is and if it is hitting the ball as quickly through the infield as the ghost does. I have no doubt it will hit home runs on squared up balls like all the other bats but does it jump off and get girls hits that might be outs simply because there is less reaction time for the defender?

I wouldn't call swings you take in practice "meaningless"...if they are "meaningless" why are you taking them? That said DD has a BP bat..it just so happens that at the moment it is the same bat she uses for a game (one of them we got for free..).

My DD has a 'feel' issue in that if she is practicing with a different bat, the game bat 'feel' gets in her head. Consistency of practicing the same thing you do in a game. So just a head case thing for her. She has a busted 2020 ghost that is her practice bat now, so the feel is at least close to the new ghost for games. I am very intrigued by the Meta X though, don't want to continue shipping bats back and forth to Easton.....

To clarify "meaningless" in the sense that the hits on the bat are not game hits, practice (soft toss, tee work, machine, wiffle, weighted, machine, etc.) are not meaningless as all of it is needed to work on a swing and have positive results. I am talking about the hits on the bat being meaningless, not your DD.

I can understand DD wanting more consistency on the bat and that is why the bat taking the non game hacks was a 5 stamp that warranty replacement became a 2022 5 stamp and her game bat is a GA (not much difference) and she even has started to use the 2022 5 stamp in games as she liked the performance in her non game hitting work.

I agree the shipping to Easton is frustrating but over the last year my longest wait has been 15 days and i have had zero issues with a return. I am always willing to look for an alternative but to me the alternative is the pop of the ghost without the durability issue. The Mantra, while durable, has way less pop. So far the Meta can't answer the durability question, the pop is definitely not there out the wrapper, and I am waiting to see where it shows out this fall to see if it ever reaches ghost pop on ground balls, line drives, etc to see if it can be a contender but I will not support a bat that does not show me the same pop of the ghost simply because of the durability problem with the ghost.

Yeah I knew what you meant..the result is meaningless, not the swing. I was just giving you a tough time ;) .

We use the BP bat a lot (during BP). It's also the "replacement bat", the "cold weather bat" and the "teammate needs to borrow a bat bat".

We're at 18 months on the Ghost Advanced, still going strong. I'm tempted by the Meta X and super-tempted by the Anderson Rocketech. And of course eagerly awaiting the Ghost Advanced release in Jan.
