I have not seen feedback on this glove(Palmetto), but it seems lots of people here are happy with the big sister version Magnolia.

I bought this glove when they went on sale and so far have been pretty happy with it. It plays a little smaller than some other 12 inch gloves I have seen.

Her other position is 1st base and she has a 13in first baseman glove. This would be for pitching. The one she is currently using for pitching is a cheap one I bought years ago for adult softball so it really is time for a new one anyway- not just a relace. Is it okay to do a 13in pitchers glove so the size is same no matter what position shes in? She is 11, but the size of an avg 13 year old (and growing quickly).

Do you have experience with that glove? I bought one and so did 2 other girls on our team and there is a big palm pad inside of it that isn’t leather. It was like an ejector mitt - ball never stayed in it due to that pad. Other 2 girls had the same experience. It’s a shame because it’s a nice glove at a good price too.

My DD used the 12.5" version for over 2 years. It was great for her.

I would suggest 12" for a P. Maybe 12.5", if she really prefers a bigger glove. Also be aware that one manufacturer's 12" may be smaller or larger than another manufacturer's. Glove sizing isn't very consistent.

Topical advice is a smaller glove for pitching for I think 2 reasons.

1) She is going to be waving the thing around all day wasting energy
2) The ball is going to come at her fast she needs to get glove into position fast

That 13" glove will be good for 1st, OF and probably C at her age.

I think I would lean towards a 11.75 - 12.5 size, running a little smaller is OK.

Those 2 gloves will cover everything except 3rd then she will have to decide which one to go with.

How much difference does the initial quality of the glove make for relacing? I suspect the result of relacing a low-end Mizuno isn't going to get you the same kind of improvement as you get with a high-quality A2000.

A low quality Mizuno glove like a Finch is going to be made of very thin leather and plastic and filled with carpet padding. If its an MVP level Mizuno then you're at least dealing with actual full leather construction and once you remove the foam pad inside the palm of the glove, and apply palm adhesive, a relace will make a world's difference.
Even a relace on an A2000 is an improvement as the lace that comes with those gloves from Vietnam is pretty crappy, its why so many A2000s come to me with broken laces.

Here's a newer MVP thats palm pad hadn't busted to a dozen pieces like the Rawlings pads do but still torn and was folded over inside the palm of the glove making it look pregnant.

Biggest difference between the MVP and the Global Elite is going to be the inside of the glove. MVPs still don't have the best padding in them. Global Elites were great gloves, its a shame Mizuno discontinued those.

13" is a big glove, my kid pitches with an 11.75" as a 15 year old, second year 16U player (December birthdays). But she also plays 1st base with a 12.5" firstbasemans mitt so she prefers the smaller gloves.

I have heard good things about Wilson's new Aura glove (A900) that has a pretty low price point. Just make sure that whatever glove you do get, you want full leather construction and not just a leather shell.

Global Elites were great gloves, and the step up into much better, really solid baseball internals was the difference! I recommended a ton of GGE11's and GGE10BK's to many many Dad's here!

But in all fairness to Mizuno, the change to the Pro-Select as the replacement to the Global Elite was a really good one as it's a step up over the GE!
