OK, gotta ask, why was pitch called illegal, what was all discussions about (if you know)?

I don't know what she was doing.
but she was doing something illegal. Our coach brought it up to the UMP and the UMP warned her twice.

The ump came back over and told our coach that in spite of the situation of the game , that if pitcher did it again he was going to have to call it....and he did. He knew what the other team's reaction was going to be... And the girls needed to be kept off the field if he did.

I was standing behind dugout , and listened to coach tell girls to start packing up, and when game was over head over to a grassy area....do not go on the field.....he knew what was about to happen.

it really wasn't of any consequence we had this number two pitchers number and were about to score that run anyway. Their #1 was their only dominant pitcher.

I've never seen adults act that way at a softball game.... Outraged at 14 year old girls..... Yelling profanity.... The team was a real piece of work....

Earlier in the game the other coach had complained about one of our pitchers ...replanting.... . And she was warned ,... And that's a very fuzzy line to see without a slow motion camera replay. .......she toned it down and had no more problems.

Our pitcher didn't Crow Hop, however was very aggressive and the toe may not have always maintained contact. they were taught the pitch aggressively the way they be allowed to pitch in college. Many teams coaches complain just to take the edge off a pitcher, to throw them out of their groove. Its a tactic. they better be prepared for it to go both ways when they start that.

Of course, one about my DD......would be the time she scored in a tournament...... and headed into the other teams dugout by mistake. She later told me everyone was looking at her...... The coach was sitting there on his bucket and she said " wrong dugout "?... He nodded.

Her coach said he been coaching for 35 years at the time...... That was a first for him..

That is funny, thanks for sharing.

Too long of a post to quote but I like to think of the good things, nothing serious but there were some bad things too.

Easiest is pitch hits half way between circle and DD Batting, Umpire called it a strike. Parent next to me goes what just happened. I told them DD swung. :)

You really got to understand my add daughter.......once she turned to a teammate on bench.....the second game of morning at a tourney...and said "where are we?" Teammate said " xxx". She said...I know that....i mean what state?..... teammate said "yyy". She said, oh, i thought we were in "zzz".

She was wrong on the state she was in by 300 miles.

Got lost driving home as freshman in college when phone went dead due to spilled coke in charger plug...went 3 hrs wrong direction, and had to backtrack. .....

ADD among children is a spectrum . . . almost all have it to some degree ;) (not meant to diminish or disregard the diagnosis, just my experience, including a child on autism spectrum (very high functioning) misdiagnosed with ADHD for years)

In reply to the earlier first time pitching stories.

I had a bucket of 25 balls. After 26 or 27 pitches (if it was a good day), we would run out of balls and have to pick them up.

She is averaging 12 k a game now at 18u so all is well. But those first years were BRUTAL
