OK, gotta ask, why was pitch called illegal, what was all discussions about (if you know)?
I don't know what she was doing.
but she was doing something illegal. Our coach brought it up to the UMP and the UMP warned her twice.
The ump came back over and told our coach that in spite of the situation of the game , that if pitcher did it again he was going to have to call it....and he did. He knew what the other team's reaction was going to be... And the girls needed to be kept off the field if he did.
I was standing behind dugout , and listened to coach tell girls to start packing up, and when game was over head over to a grassy area....do not go on the field.....he knew what was about to happen.
it really wasn't of any consequence we had this number two pitchers number and were about to score that run anyway. Their #1 was their only dominant pitcher.
I've never seen adults act that way at a softball game.... Outraged at 14 year old girls..... Yelling profanity.... The team was a real piece of work....
Earlier in the game the other coach had complained about one of our pitchers ...replanting.... . And she was warned ,... And that's a very fuzzy line to see without a slow motion camera replay. .......she toned it down and had no more problems.
Our pitcher didn't Crow Hop, however was very aggressive and the toe may not have always maintained contact. they were taught the pitch aggressively the way they be allowed to pitch in college. Many teams coaches complain just to take the edge off a pitcher, to throw them out of their groove. Its a tactic. they better be prepared for it to go both ways when they start that.
