I've never thought about doing that, but that's a good idea. Do you remember how much the warranty is?

Yep! It’s $3.99. I have two pairs of identical gloves in a constant rotation so she is never without gloves. When you buy it you text a picture of the receipt to them so it’s on file.

In December I made a claim on a pair we bought in June. They send you a free shipping label, you throw them in a Manila envelope send them in and they send you back a Dicks giftcard, in this case for $27.99. It takes a few weeks.

Another little tip- when you buy a bat (from CoreSoftball, never Dicks!) use your Visa and keep a copy of the statement. Visa doubles the manufacturer warranty on sports equipment. It’s no cost. Utilize the manufactures warranty until that expires. After you are out of your one year warranty (or Easton etc will no longer warranty it) and the bat is broken, you can submit a claim through Visa and be reimbursed for the price you paid for the bat.

MasterCard probably does the same, idk.

This is why it’s so important to keep copies of bat reciepts as well as the credit card receipt somewhere where they can be found even after a couple years.

I know you're opposed to it, but DD 12 and DS 10 both absolutely love their Oakley Prizms, for that matter I own a pair as well. We treat them just as any other piece of their equipment, they're to be responsible for them. "On your face or in their case" is what we've taught them and somehow they've managed to take great care of them for over a year now. The cases (and glasses when not in use) stay in their ball bags, they've got cheapo sunglasses for playing outside, their Oakley's are only for ball.

Rivbos (Amazon for <$20, several styles) are decent. They are made for kids, tend to be on the smaller side, but not tiny. But if you can get a nicer pair from DSG for <$50 with a warranty, you're at about the same cost/yr. My DD just doesn't want to use sunglasses more often than not.

That is an amazing tip, thanks so much for sharing that! So the warrenty is through Dick's, not Eason itself?

And yes, I definitely plan on talking to CoreSoftball when we're ready for a new bat. Great tip on the Visa, I had no idea!

Tried some cheapies off Amazon last season. What do you know they broke very easily. Don't really want to drop $75 or $100 bucks. She loses stuff all the time. Looking at the under armor ones. Seem to have decent reviews. Anybody have any advice for sunglasses?
She like the look of the oakley Field Prizms but I ain't dropping that kind of coin on something that is sure to get scratched or lost.
We purchased the Oakley Prisms for Xmas gift. We got them for $60 at factory store. No way spending $150+.
The clarity is much better then your average sunglasses. She was told in no uncertain terns you lose or damage due to your negligence it’s back to the “cheapies”
But yeah if you can find them for a great price take the plunge.

That's probably the first time I've thought of buying a warranty a good idea.

If you're not worried about brand name, you can sometimes find safety sunglasses at big box home improvement stores, farm supply stores, industrial supply stores that pass as not ugly for fairly cheap. Can even buy multi-packs if they're always getting abused.

This is what I do for umpiring. I have always been of those people who loses/breaks sunglasses, so I hate spending significant money on them. Safety glasses are relatively cheap (especially if you buy in bulk) and are designed to keep dust and debris out. They are also generally more durable. Plus you can get them in all black. Hard to find all-black sunglasses theses days,

Which ones do you get?......I been using Oakley Green lenses, really cool looking, the girls comment on how cool they look, but I've been told I need to get black sunglasses.
