It is pretty simple - if you catch the ball like it is a strike, there is a better chance on the edge calls you will get a strike called. You can call it framing or positioning or whatever, but that is just the case.

I don't have the time to work with my catchers as much as I would like. and it is pretty hard to find an AC who knows catching. which is too bad because this (12U) is prime teaching time.
