From what I've read and seen, your statements above can't get any further from the truth in regards to most people. The above statements may reflect how you view the rear leg BUT there are many take the rear leg in control theory and burn it to the ground as is the case with most cues. For many the rear leg is a highly conscious act.

Tjintx, I'm going to disagree completely here. Very important that the rear leg 'react' in it's final phase (that being the three phase description by Dixon [sr.]).

leadside lateral bend and FBC before the rear leg becomes unweighted OR after the rear leg becomes unweighted? Or does the leadside lateral bend and FBC unweight the rear leg?

Lead-side lateral bend and FbC generally take place after the rear leg is weighted.

Lead-side lateral bend and FbC do not unweight the rear leg. The unweighting of the rear leg comes after this.

While you are closer to getting it than most (and I know this is hard for you to swallow). you don't yet get it. And claiming there's a mystery to this because it hasn't clicked for you is just your intellect getting in the way. I'm hopeful that more will see it and feel it soon. Maybe They can help decrypt the language for the masses.

So help the masses "get it". Let's read your description of what is correct.

No arch in the lower back.

Arching the lower back activates core muscles such as the Psaos. When you practice arching there is real arching. When you swing while arching there doesn't have to be any real arching.

If you want to hear it from someone who has been teaching this for years, go to Hubie Magic Hitting Academy

Oh the irony.... Generally? meaning sometimes but not exclusively. So, sorta kinda maybe.

So you shift your weight back onto the rear leg THEN LLB and FBC?

So The unweighting of the rear leg must come after lead side lateral bend and FBC AND a push off the back leg?
Because if the rear leg is still weighted and the LLB and FBC don't unweight the rear leg then what else could unweight it?
It just doesn't fit the core movement descriptions that you are desperately trying to make fit into your belief system.

Tjintx, the word 'generally' was used because there are also those that begin the process of "lead-side lateral bending" AS they weight their rear leg.

Curious if you dislike the term "lordosis" and would prefer "thoracic extension".

The unweighting of the rear leg comes after lead-side lateral bend and FbC.

You'll often see the front foot off the ground, or minimally weighted, at the peak of lead-side lateral bend. The center of pressure is mostly on the rear foot at this point in the swing.

Ok, so the question remains, HOW does your rear leg get unweighted? Your dancing around it. How does it get weighted THEN UN-weighted
No clips of TED or golf videos please. And Dixon isn't here so let's not ask Him in.

Happy New Year Five, I really hope you figure it out.

Tjintx, the following photos are of hitters at peak lead-side lateral bend. I think you'll agree that their rear leg is weighted and that the act of lead-side lateral bending did not unweight the rear leg.
