Curious why it matters?

Would rather see the discussion remain on the aspects of hitting. There is a big difference in these two photos.

I'm curious about the point mann was trying to make by posting the pic. Is she someone notable?

FFS - What are your thoughts about this drill? Does it have value for working on specific issues?

Here's the rub Eric .... when you start asking 'who' the person is that is in the act of making a swing that some might consider 'terrible', then certain folks tend to become defensive instead of remaining focused on the mechanics. Fortunately Mann tends to be better about this ... but some folks here have clearly blinded themselves when the discussion turns to the "person".

I'm familiar with a similar drill, but not exactly this drill.

The intent of such drills is to re-inforce lower body mechanics. Such aspects as the "missing frames", "extra stretch", etc..

If you already know how to use your lower half, then the drill isn't overly helpful .... and could actually be hurtful.

Here's a video talking on the topic somewhat.

The upper rear leg leads the lower rear leg. The lower rear leg should essentially be serving as a ‘post’. When the upper rear leg leads the movement, the rear knee will be a ‘result’.

Goes back to spinners versus drivers. How the rear leg is used is important.

Know what you are trying to promote …. Then decide if the drill helps you promote what you wish to promote.

I debated on whether calling it the Adrian Beltre Drill but I know most young hitter's don't know who he is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32rIvfl2nBI

Having said that, the point of the Bryce Harper Drill is for hitters that struggle with a few things which can include: standing up when they firm up too early, not staying down in their legs, etc. Don't use it very often but can be a great drill for teaching some hitters to get down into their legs.

One thing that stood out differently between the drill and the swing clip provided was the resistance with the front leg at contact.
