Considering that the information has always been what HL hitters do , and that he's never given bad information , I'd say it's just as new as the newest information, right? Unless the newest information is just as wrong as the older information, correct?

Come clean....you work in Congess right? That was some nice question dodging-redirect-non answer Kung fu. So can i take that as an "it's old JJ"?

Don't make me go McEnroe on you again.

I liked McEnroe and miss those days of watching him play Lendl or Conners or Borg, and even miss the tantrums.

TM has been just as guilty, but I don't think posting stale video or taking clips out of context helps anyone.

I don't mean to argue to be an HI/TM defender, but I have felt the good. He invited us out and worked with my kid for around 8hrs across two days and refused to take a penny from me.

Was this swing clip afterwards?

What was the focus during those 8hrs?

Do you have a before swing clip?

Hi FFS,

Yes, it's a current clip. I'll reply on the thread that I started. I'm trying to stop crashing Mallory's thread.

I believe you said you've been at HI for over a year ... and that TM has worked with your daughter personally. Her current swing suggests that something isn't right with either the information or your interpretation of that information. Occasionally I'll get a hitter that struggles with basic movements ... maybe that is the case here.

Your comment implies that you think the clip I posted was complete. I never stated as such. If you know a hitting instructor who can turn a swing into Cabrera in a few one-on-one's, let us know. I'm sure the line will be out the door.

The HI pattern is no cupcake to learn. My DD was in bad shape at the start and had major dexterity issues that have been a tremendous struggle to overcome. Mix in pitching, school, me HC'ing a travel team with a FT job and there hasn't been a lot of time for either of us. I've been pitching instructor, throwing instructor, hitting instructor to both girls who are not inherent athletes... There's just not enough time in the week.

Granted, I think that the instruction could be much more clear. TM communicates to me, and I translate to DD. It has taken me a year to learn and feel parts of it, and I am still not complete. My misunderstandings have made the instruction more like doing the hokey pokey than moving forward.

I wish to find easier ways to teach it to my 9YO, but I am still weeks into helping her find a rear hip coil alone.

Jryan - It's rear hip pivot - not coil. That is why everyone struggles with this method. Wrapping yourself around your rear leg is not what the pro's do. Your rear hip provides power by flexing and then extending in the transverse plane - not by unwrapping around the rear leg. If you pivot correctly you get the "coiled" feeling. But, if you "coil" around the rear leg you end up twisting yourself up into a pretzel that feels unnatural and doesn't help you hit.

Stand up - pick up your front foot - cock your front leg and at the same time draw your rear knee inwards. That is basic and athletic. You can make that move tighter by initiating it with your core muscles.

In another thread - RDbass is showing an exercise he is working on to get in shape so he can get his core stronger!
