Hey season is coming and I'm thinking of moving from a duffel bag to a backpack. What are you guys using? What brands/models do you like the best. I need to carry an Ipad, glove, tape, icepack, etc. wondering what you have success with.

I used a Demarini Voodoo Paradox for a while it was good for my needs...until the zipper failed. I'm a bit over a year into a Boombah Wonderpack. It's doing just fine.

Right Here For Now
You might be surprised. I'm an electrician and went to several home automation seminars. At one of those they gave away a backpack with the Intermatic insignia on it to hold all of their materials. I've used and had it for 6 years and it's still going strong. I don't know who manufactured it for them but it's one tough beast of a backpack with plenty of pockets. The material is very thick and wear-resistant.

We have been using the Boombah Superpack Bat Pack for 5 years now. We replace them every two years or so. They have a ton of room in them and I throw it in the washer when it gets really nasty. My biggest complaint is the bat pocket on the sides is made of flimsier material and doesn't hold up as well as the rest of it. It is not big enough for our catchers though, so they get the Spartan Rolling Bat Bag. It is big enough for all of their catchers gear and regular ball equipment also. We have been pleased with the quality of the bat bags, and the Boombah customer service has been fantastic. We had one bag last year that split along a seam just a few months after we got them (user abuse I am sure) and they replaced the bag no questions asked.

Honestly after trying several I started using a Russell Athletics from Walmart and it has worked better for me than any much higher priced pack. It was an accidental discovery as I was out of town for work and my laptop bag strap broke. I found this bag and grabbed it because it was only around $15 and figured I would get something better when I had more time. It is padded and has a divider inside the main pocket which protects the laptop from anything inside with it. I typically keep my laptop, glove, recruiting flyers, misc first aid supplies, pens, and other crap in it plus it can hold two water bottles and has straps I can connect to the fence to hang it. For me it is perfect for a coach/manager.

DD's TB team used Boombah - that was our first experience with them (and a backpack bag since she is a catcher) and DD loved it. Tons of room, holds up great and the colors pop. Same bag that her college team uses.
