Well, coaches DD cannot pitch and play SS at the same time, so my suggestion would be to have your DD play the one not occupied by coaches DD. I would also like to point out that 98.2% of recruiting is done in TB and at camps, so your DD's HS experience can only have a negative impact on 1.8% of the recruiting process...although I have found that college LOVE to put HS stats in their players bios.

Just FYI: there was an SEC Head Coach at our HS game today. Allegedly watching our 9th grade SS.

I certainly don't know the situation and/or the personalities. However, my wife coached my girls all through high-school volleyball (one went on to play college ball). Each of them would say that they had it harder because Coach Mom (she wouldn't let them call her mom on the court) didn't cut them any slack and actually held them to a higher standard to ensure she couldn't be accused of partiality. That being said, I realize not all coaches are as awesome as my wife. :)

Both girls are tremendous athletes. This isn’t a case of an undeserving young lady playing because her dad is coaching. Both girls have battled from 6 years old. I’d prefer an impartial coach to decide who starts where. Where we are from, if I’m making a team, they are the first two I’d take. Depending on what day it is I’m not sure who I’d take first.
