Need to vent. 12yo DD's team has only two healthy pitchers right now. On Saturday, coaches had my DD pitch all three games including a 9 inning ITB in the 3rd game. I'm estimating that she threw over 400 pitches in 21 innings (including pregame warm-ups and pitches between innings). Pitcher #2 missed the first game and for some odd reason she was not allowed to warm-up for Game 2 or 3. After the game, DD iced her shoulder and bicep (first time in 5 years we have felt that she needed ice). While I appreciate the coaches having confidence in her, I'm scratching my head trying to understand the logic of not pitching a fresh pitcher in game 2 or 3 (or any part thereof)?
Has anyone had a similar experience and/or has your DD pitched that many innings in a day?
