DD's tournament schedule -

Pool Play

1st Game - 8:00 am

2nd Game - 2:00 pm

3rd Game - 8:00 am Sunday

Is it me or is that the worst schedule.

Our first tournament we play at 8 am then not again until 5:20 p.m with another possible at 8:30 p.m. Yours is looking pretty good to me.

Pretty bad but not unusual just be thankful it's not a 4GG with a 8pm game thrown in there just for fun. Only the host team gets the 10:00 starts and done by 5:00

And it's ALWAYS just close enough to home that it doesn't make sense to pay for a hotel, but just far enough that you can't go home between games (or you'd arrive and just have to turn around again). Starbucks, here we come!

Last year we had an 8am game scheduled and had to be there at 6:50am. Of course the rain comes down as soon as we get there. Restart at 3pm. We played that game and the next game wasn't until 11pm. We get there and the field we are supposed to play is not on time and the game went 3 innings ITB. Lucky for us there was an open field they put us on. We finished at 1:53am with a 9am start that very morning. Meanwhile this field is 30 miles away with 7 dollars in tolls each way. We went back and forth enough times that we could have gotten a hotel room for cheaper than gas and tolls.

I have to say that is a crappy draw. But, on average, how many of these crappy draws do you get?

I ask that to say that every tournament we play and I like to look at who the other teams we are playing, and look at their schedules compared to ours. And it seems that every tournament someone gets a crappy draw like that, just two weeks ago our 8:00AM Sunday game opponent had to play the 9:00PM Saturday game (which was behind schedule and didn't start until almost 10PM). We were done with our last Saturday game at 6:30PM...maybe it was just your turn? Or maybe the TD has favorites.
