This season during DD's HS game.

The visiting team had a couple of rowdy parents. They claimed the ump was not giving the corners to their daughter who was pitching. The parents were very loud for 2 innings about this.

And this is how he handled it.................... :) Filmed with the GOPRO

Well done. I've never seen an ump force a spectator to leave a field. I guess they can just call time and refuse to restart the game until the offenders leave - peer pressure from all the other spectators who want to watch the game should do the trick.

Ump took alot of slack for the cuss word. And some talk about not using him again. I was in the press box right behind home plate and he had taken more abuse from the parents then I would have. Lucky I had the footage of them harassing him before the outburst. Good guy, he just had enough.

Saw it last year. 14U All Star game. Umpire was an American Indian. The dad was mouthy all game especially when his DD was in the circle. Couple of close pitches called balls. Dad makes a very politically incorrect comment about Geronimo and Custer's last stand. Ump ejects the guy and tells the opposing coach that he will be ejected too if the guy doesn't leave immediately. After the guy is escorted to the parking lot the ump turns to our coach and says, "I wouldn't have ejected him if he had gotten the Indian right". Got a nice laugh out of that one.

I believe buried in most rules there is a line about the coaches being responsible for the parents and spectators. If they get out of hand the coach will be asked to fix the situation if not they can forfeit. This is from this weekends tourney.

7. Behavior- Negative cheering, comments or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. This includes any attempt to distract a fielder or pitcher while making a play or attempting to pitch.
8. Conduct- Managers are responsible for the conduct of their coaches, players and fans. Failure to control conduct will result in game being stopped and possible forfeit. Any player or coach ejected from a game must sit out the remainder of that game and the next scheduled game.

Along the lines of a coach being responsible for his/her team's fans, anybody recall how the Disco Demolition promo in 1979 ended up for Bill Veeck's ChiSox? Google it for kicks if you don't.

Good for the ump...as long as an ump is consistent with his calls I have no issue...seen good ones, seen bad ones....Seen fans get chunked quite a few times and they always had it coming

I agree with everything the UMP did until the cuss word which I have a problem with. I look at HS sports as an extension of the class room and coaches, spectators and UMPs are expected to follow guide lines including vulgar language.

I seen an UMP throw parents out of ball parks and threaten to forfeit a game if the parent did not leave, this was 9-10. The parent he threw out only made a comment on a pitch being in the dirt called a strike, nothing mean or out of the way.

I thought kid gets hurt no parent around then what?
