Never actually set this up before, but I've seen it on other clips. I like it and will probably use it during our off season bp sessions this winter.

This is different than the poor swing drills we’ll often see posted here from time-to-time with the string going through the ball and the hitter performing a swing with a poor bat path.

The string here is simply meant to provide a path going through the strike zone.

The stated object is to make sure the hands stay above the ball, that they work down to it, and through it before coming around. Note the demonstrated diagonal barrel path and how the barrel head works down to the ball.

The ball is placed on the outside half of the plate, and not on the string.
