Last week we finished 4th in the USSSA world series - and were one hit away from being in the championship game. Played all the way through to midday on the last day. Lost the last game in 7 innings 2-1 on a blooped single over our SS's head.
Huge effort from the girls. We had hoped to be top 10 - thought we had a shot going in since we had been playing well - but we just kept on winning in the winners bracket and we hit the snot out of the ball all weekend. Only losses were to a couple of teams with some OUTSTANDING CF's and RF who made some amazing catches on well hit balls.
6 years ago I started our local 8U team - our org only had a 18U team at the time. We went 0-14 that first season. 3 of those girls are still on the team. Best finish at World's in the orgs history.
I couldn't be more proud. Over achieved. Great week and great experience.
