Sort of late to the party; Sorry about that. Sounds like you have been given great advice above. Whether you choose to use a LynkSpyder or not, check out our equipment page to help make the decision on which camera you might want to get.

If you choose to take our suggestion on the Hero 4 Silver, below is our suggested configuration page based on this camera:

Hope this helps!

I have the GoPro Hero 3+ and the 4. Between the two cameras I like the hero 3+ better, and you can get them from GoPro Refurbished. You dont need the 4k. Only reason I bought that camera was for the night photos. LynkSpyder is a must. With where to put the camera, different angles are fun to play with. If your dd is a pitcher or a catcher, them either left or right side of fence, depending on which arm she throws with. Out fielder or middle infielder then go in the middle of fence. DO not waste your money on the JawBone clamp either. Just get the lynkspyder and be done with it. Best investment I made so far with my GoPros.

Camera Settings is at 1080p at 48FPS or 60FPS . Narrow settings too on the camera

Here are two clips I have. You dont have to watch the whole video, but just gives you an idea. Also on the camera mounted towards left field you will see it being foggy. Get the moisture inserts that GOPRO makes. I think there is a DIY version too. I havent played with those yet.

This link is the blurry one . IF I would have used those inserts as in the previous link, video would have been better

The Hero 4 silver if I was to get another new one would be my next choice of cameras too. The screen makes it nice to see what your looking at without having to use the WIFI with your phone.

I have the 3+ silver/lynkspyder/backup battery combo and I usually set mine up high on the backstop with a medium view.

I only record at 720p as I just use it to review plays for statistics. I turn it on via wifi after the coin toss and check the picture via phone occasionally and turn it off after the last out and doing this I can get about 8-10 tournament games (75-80 minute games) on my 64GB card. I also carry a 32GB card just in case.

Last season I think I charged the backup battery maybe twice?. It lasts that long, recording entire games with wifi on.
