How to get back into sliding

Rain? What's that. I haven't seen rain in ages. Everyone got a letter that they are going to fined if they don't cut back on water usage. Our fields are like cement these days.

I'm sure there are multiple good ways to re-introduce sliding. I don't think this is a right way wrong way type thing.

On wet days on grass, or on decent dirt infields, we play sliding limbo with a pool noodle. On dirt, I think its good to rake up the sliding zone well and even push a little extra onto it every couple slides. We start with the noodle about chest high and a couple paces out then slowly lower and move it closer until it's just over a foot away and girls are barely getting under. They get two touches before getting knocked out. On hot days and as cool way to and practice, we've wet down a patch of grass.
