My DD hits pretty well for average and power so I don't think there is much pulling us to switching over. Recently I analyzed some videos frame by frame and estimated she typically is 2.7 seconds to first *after* the rear foot hits the dirt on the first step.
However, with her full swing and follow through she takes as much as .8 seconds from contact to finish her swing and get that first step.
So, what are some typical times to 1st from the right side, and is it all worth it to think about or work on getting out of the box?
