You mean YOUR team hit a ball that was not recovered--right? :D

Oh yes. Bret Harte school in Hayward, left field was short, no fence and then there was a hill with trees and brush. Ball goes into the trees and gets stopped by foliage, kids hunt for it, sometimes its gone.

Canal just past the fence at Rainbow Fields in Riverbank. The Stockton water channel beyond field 1 at Louis Park.

In fact, the longest hit softball in FP I ever saw hit was done at Stockton, at Louis park, field 1. My center fielder, Jimmy Bryan, former MLB minor leaguer, hit one that we paced off after the game. It cleared the 300' fence at around 50 feet high and was still climbing. It cleared all the trees aand the parking lot. We all saw exactly where it hit on the road and the middle line. One hop and it was in the Stockto channel.

Within a half dozen feet or so, 520 feet. The guy had the fastest bat swing speed I ever tried to see. I am SO glad he was on our team. Only guy that ever scared me with a bat, pitched batting practice to him a few times, scary.

Yup lots of em lost.
