My vote is babysitting or pet sitting. She can then accept/turn down jobs as required. That's my plan for my kids. I did work at McDs though high school and college and they were very flexible as long as you worked hard while you were there, I did many activities and they always accommodated me.

My dd works at American Eagle. They are super-flexible with her. She's had the job since she was 16, and AE worked around her summer travel schedule and school ball schedule for the remainder of her HS years. She's now a freshman in college and they still continue to work with her college and softball schedule. Some weeks she doesn't work at all, some weeks it might be 4 hours, during winter break she worked a good number of hours and was able to bank some money, and this summer will probably mimic her winter schedule.
