The little league 11" balls have a low compression. At this age most of the girls aren't strong enough to compress the ball into the trampoline effect. Which is why I say alloy. Soft ball with hard bat= recoil or hard ball and soft bat= recoil. Soft ball and soft bat= dud.
The higher the compression factor on the ball, the softer the bat should be for optimal performance.
A 325 or lower comp. ball will recoil harder off an alloy bat. (The ball compresses and not the bat)
A 375-400+ ball will recoil harder off a soft composite bat.
Ball comp. definition: whatever the number is, is the compressive foot pounds required to egg shape the ball 1/4".

DD swung an Anderson Ignite and a Demarini Vendetta in 8U. We had both kid and coach pitch. The Anderson Ignite was the better overall bat. The Vendetta was good on coach pitch. He could pitch it faster into her hitting zone, and the ball would fly off the bat. DD hit more line drives with the Ignite. The Ignite has been passed on to another 8U and she's tearing it up. The Vendetta, well, it's passed on. DD used it the cages for awhile, and its a sponge bat now.

We used an Ignite for a season. Great bang for the buck. A little bit more end loaded compared to the CF5 29/18 she had at the time.
