She has always played up, this is her first year staying in her age group, found a good group of girls her age to play with, physically there is no question she can play up, but still needs some work on staying calm and cool in the circle, so she is playing with her age group, it always helps to have a January DOB in softball.

Makes since. They can always play up in 12U tourneys if they want. January birthdays are great, unfortunately mine is an 05 with a late December birthday.

Playing up or down between 10u and 12u can be difficult. Different ball, different distance. I've seen a few parents push their kids to play "up" as a second year 10u only to see them crash and burn and then come back to 10u and not be as dominate as they assumed they would be.
