Well after forgoing pitching "seriously" for a season due to a lack of need on the previous team we are back at it...again.

Aside from the "swimming" and strange toe drag habit she has, LOL, I think her timing is off.? (She has recently complained about muscle pain near her shoulder blade.) I think some of that is timing but may be due to the recent increase in pitching.?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Given how natural the pitching motions is (or should be), I don't think she should have pain.

Clearly, she has loads of potential. I wish the clip were a bit more slowed down. I kind of appears as though she's getting her hand too turned outward or downward when the arm is at 9:00. I would argue that that might be causing some shoulder pain.

I'll wait to see what the true experts see. Of course, I'm always drawn to these pitching clips and what pitchers are doing. Hope you don't mind my novice chime.

Could you post that to youtube... so I can dl it and watch it frame by frame? Having a hard time with that link and slowing it down...

The only time I focus on swimming is when I'm in the water... which, I'm told... is a good thing! ;)

She has never pitched "hello elbow" as it has always felt extremely unnatural. One of her new coaches preaches "hello elbow" and she is fighting it all the way. I just noticed one of her pitches kinda finishes like that...ugh!

I slowed it down and, while there may be some other things, I think she's turning her hand over to palm down somewhere near 9:00 behind her, and I think that that can cause some shoulder issues. Just try doing that your self and feel the torque in the shoulder. But I'm not sure. It's just what I'm seeing might possibly be happening.

Just to clarify...Her "shoulder pain" is in the muscle on the medial side of the scapula (pitching arm). It kinda feels like a knot in the muscle. This didn't start until she started pitching 3-5 times a week.
