I hope my DD hits 50 next year. She will be 2nd year U10. She's an 04.
She was clocked at 43 in U8 last year. I've seen her throw faster but nobody was gunning her. We didn't pitch from July until about a month ago and she was throwing 40-42. She's gained a few mph getting back into the groove.
March 31, 1996 first recorded 50 mph pitch by DD....13yrs 4 months old.......16 years later hit another top speed. Speed increases don't have to plateau at an early age. Keep workin!!!!!!! "Often Happy/Never Satisfied"
One of the reasons for the increase in speed, I attribute to her new PC focusing on "slow to load (on the back swing) and then explode". This is my new cue.
I always get a kick out of watching pitchers with really fast backswings.....no matter how fast they go back they have to stop before they can come forward. We have always taught my DD to be "smooth" in her backswing.
