Probably shouldn't post this but I do want her to get better so, how does her swing look?

So Cal
If you also have a full-speed clip, it would help, too. Showing her stance and transition into the swing is also important info.

What I see is a very common drop-the-barrel-and-swing-flat pattern. This is often a result of the hitter thinking the arms are dominant in swinging the bat. Included in this pattern is ELAE (early lead arm extension) which results in the lead arm remaining straight all the way through contact.

I've posted this clip MANY times, but it remains really useful...

Pay attention to how the barrel of the bat stays above and perpendicular to the line of the shoulder until the HANDS launch the barrel. It's the hands that are dominant in whipping the barrel of the bat to the ball. Also, notice how the lead arm stays bent until after contact. The elbow-elbow-hands triangle remains intact until after contact, it just rotates. "Turn the triangle to the pitcher" is a commonly-used cue.

Looking at the girl and looking at Cabrera from the time their front foot(s) are down, what is the big picture feeling you get with each? Look blurry eyed...not focusing on any body part or mechanic. What does the energy flow feel like with each?

Eric, here is the full speed video. Also not sure if you're saying that arm movement is good or bad?

RHC-with Cabrera, the flow feels like the energy is moving forward being released at impact. My DD's is trying to do the same thing but she seems to have the energy rising up as she is almost going on her toes instead of a more forward motion.

An arm-dominant, straight-arm swing is not the ideal pattern. In addition to lifting up, her weight is all forward, and she's contacting the ball a bit too far out front.

Despite the nit-picking, she seems to be a strong and athletic girl with the potential to become a true powerhouse hitter. A lot of the issues we're talking about are very common, and very fixable. Changing habits can sometimes be a long process, but stick with it, and the results can be dramatic.

PC-What software do you use? I remember reading in the rose colored....thread some software that you used but didn't write it down and honestly don't feel like rummaging through 50 pages of nonsense to find it. The original video was done with coach's eye, then sent to my camera roll, and slowed down in Windows Movie Maker. If I remember correctly the argument was over GIF's? Anyway, thanks for removing the extra stuff from the end.

She is very strong. I understand everything you said but I thought the point of a rotational swing was to have all the weight transfer energy moving forward and being released at impact? Or are you talking about after impact?
