Cant speak for RHC, but since i mentioned the same 2 guys - its not "how they teach" because I dont know - havent had a lesson. I did send Tewks an email seeing if online video analysis was an option for either myself or daughter but he has not responded.

What intrigued me about these guys is "what" they talk about. Teacherman - importance of rear leg coil and pulling back even further against that rear leg coil. Tewks - turning the barrel to the ball vs hands to the ball, good lower half commentary whether one strides or not, concept of swinging until you dont via his videos of hitters and their takes

Thanks. This is more of the track that I was wanting the thread to take.

Not here.
I believe Tewks partner post on this site under Austin Wass. Partners at A.B. Athletic Development. Maybe he will read and post his thoughts?

Not what I asked. I understand this principle. But , I have also seen quite frequently that two "experts" can look at the the same video and come to two totally different conclusions.

Which is why the Hanson Principle doesn't work. Think about the "open interpretation" when 2 internet hitting forum experts "Hanson principle" a vid.

They need a "go to" guy.

One has to become their DD's go to guy.
At the youth level, the coaches's kid is almost always the best.
Big time Timmy Jim comes to mind. All the way to the S.F. Giants.

I've worked with my DD for 5 years year 'round, and I "didn't have the time".
By the way, it was never my idea to do this. My DD drove the bus on this one.
For 5 years she choose to take hundreds of swings per week. Because that was her desire.

And to the post above, Tweks is a valuable resource.

Once again , I understand what you are saying here. I have the time to search videos , read forums , etc. A lot of the other typical parents may not. All I am asking here , is who would you refer parents to get the best/most reliable info.?

"Anyway if someone is not comfortable posting on here, I put in my recommendation for Teacherman or Tewks"
Where do you find out their approach to teaching hitting? I'm sure by searching through hundreds of threads, but do they have specific DVD's, websites etc? A p.m. would be fine.
Good thread btw.

Teacherman is at Hitting Illustrated - you can read his free comments here -http://www.hittingillustrated.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=13

Bobby Tewksbary - TewksBaseball.com

Its a pita, but reading through old threads and knowing their various aliases for the respective forums - baseball fever, baseball debate, here - helps shed more light on where they are coming from.

I really like that one suggestion further up the the comments - give each expert their own thread and let em explain their swing from start to finish without every other "expert" chiming in

I've found the information to be found on Internet hitting sites to be 100X better than what I've seen my daughter taught by in-person hitting coaches -- and these were pretty decent coaches. It's just more advanced.

However, I think two years trolling Internet hitting boards wouldn't be worth as much as 2 HOURS live and in-person with someone like Tewks, etc., who could really present the information one-on-one in a cage with a dad/coach and a DD. And that is soooooo frustrating.

I wish that someone like Tewks or Teacherman would take his show on the road and plan a cross-country tour via the connections he could make on boards like DFP...I feel like it could work, pick a city, recruit participants, split the costs, etc....

I like the idea too. But I want to see more than just "their" instruction. I want to see them working with multiple hitting students. Even more valuable if they show timeline progression from day one all the way through the finishing touch.

So....would the two you just mentioned be the ones you would refer the average parent to for reliable info ?

Yes. Others on this site don't like their approach. You aren't getting simple answers because there aren't any...the two I mentioned figure things out via discussion/argument/active experimentation.

If you want something easy to start with, look to an RightViewPro DVD or maybe Epstein, but they have their detractors as well.

Add: Maybe one thing I AM saying is if you can find someone you can trust locally, do your hitting lessons in person, not via the Internet....then keep learning and vetting and fine-tuning via the hitting boards....
