DD will get one around Thanksgiving at school. I really hope they are better than the current Mako. After watching a decent amount of college softball I am pretty convinced that the Mako under performs across a wide spectrum of hitters. The voices in my head say "THATS GONE!!! Then they reply to themselves "well, it was a nice hit I guess."
DD played a Demarini school over the weekend. I have never looked at a CF Anything and had bat envy until then.
Well, since my dd has swung an Easton for like 7 years, I just couldn't break free. She really likes the feel of the balance on the bat. I went ahead and picked this bat up. She swung it yesterday at practice. First pitch, she popped it up backwards over the backstop. Looked over at me with a big grin on her face, she said, oh yeah.. I like this bat. Then she proceeded to hit line drive after line drive back up the middle sector of the field. She did pop a couple over the outfielders head where the ball carried on them past where they were anticipating it falling. My dd is not a big girl, 5'-4", 113 lbs. She is a line drive hitter and understands her role. This bat so far has her excited. We'll get a game taste tonight.
second game played now with this bat.. similar results.
First at bat, line drive single to left field.
Second at bat, hard ground ball, just inside third base, single, loaded the bases.
Third at bat, line drive double to left center field, went to the fence, 230'.
She is very much liking the feel, balance, and pop in the bat. I think she would recommend this bat to players that like the balanced Easton feel.
