Useful equipment designed for other sports being used in Fastpitch

In a recent post about batting gloves I read CoreSoftball20's post that he used motocross gloves as batting gloves (thank you btw). Since my DD goes through a ton of batting gloves we went to check this option out. She found a pair of Scorpion gloves that were perfect. Palms were padded perfectly and were not too thick, and they had some protection on the back of hand and knuckles as well. They seems to be made of more durable leather than the thin palms on batting gloves and about the same price. When we were at the cycle shop also found sunglasses that have foam around the inside of the lenses to keep dirt out and also adjust to light. These will be perfect for the days when the dirt is blowing around. This got me to thinking that there are probably other cool pieces of equipment being used that were designed for other sports that people have found work great for Fastpitch too. Was interested to see what/if everyone has found in this regard.

One I'll share that a lot of may already know about is the Dermatone sunscreen applicator. Found at the fishing and skiing shops, or Amazon. A buddy who is big into fishing introduced me to this. He used it so he didn't get sunscreen transferred from his hands to lures. Its great for applying without getting hands greasy, and covers much better than the sprays that are messy and still need to be rubbed in and the sticks that are too hard to go on easily. Always had a tough time getting DD to reapply sunscreen during long tournaments because she said it made her hands feel weird, this solved that problem.

When DD1 was a HS senior, she had a hairline fracture in one of the bones in her throwing hand. We were able to find a pair of padded football gloves that helped protect and cushion it. For the life of me, I cannot remember what brand they were though.
