combat makes decent double wall bat you can find cheap for younger kids that my dd did really well with starting out. I would not drop much money in a high dollar bat until 10u or 12u. I always made my dd's work and practice if they wanted new bat. Meaning, if you think you need a nicer pricey bat then show me !! I say an expensive bat in the hands of a great hitter is a weapon, but in the hands of a mediocre hitter its an expensive walking stick. Profound I know, LOL - but true.

WM, you're assuming that RIF balls are being used. Even our local rec leagues don't use them at all in our area.

Yep, around here RIF are only used up until age 8.
