    14 yr old swing

    My daughter does something I see in your video. Her front foot opens too much with toes pointing at the pitcher. It opens the hips too much and results in teh front shoulder 'leaking' or 'opening' to much. This results in pop ups and hitting the ball of the end of the bat.

    how would you handle this?

    Move on. I've been at this for years and either: a) coach does not feel your daughter can compete or b) coach is a jerk and always wants the pitcher he doesn't have currently. Either way, it's time to move on because it is difficult to have a relationship with that coach from here on.

    Strictly a timing and load thing. Most of those girls wouldn't bunt. Ever. Hitter, whether MLB or college softball or HS softball, etc tend to be early. This is one way to get the load and keeping movement during the AB.
