Best mid-Atlantic organizations?
So I know we're not the same as the west coast or south, but we try to play good softball in the mid-Atlantic states, too. It's the start of crazy season in softball- which organizations in the mid-Atlantic states are considered the most competitive?- plsjms94

Where do we find the right team?
You may be too late for this but I suggest spending a Saturday attending a local tournament. That will give you a chance to see how the coaches, players, and parents carry themselves and give you an idead about the overall skill level. Interference?
Our coaches argued the call for about 20 minutes and insisted the UIC come over but the call still stood. We lost the game, but afternour coach (who is a former umpire) took the rule book over to the UIC to show him the rule and suggest he study it.- plsjms94

That was exactly our question! They said the runnerhad one foot in fair territory when running to first. The UIC told our head coach he didn't know the rule. Plate ump was overheard telling opposing team's coach that we were all a bunch of "idiot a******s".- plsjms94

Very similar thing happened to our team today leading to a 20 minute delay while coaches, umpires, and UIC "discussed." Runner at 2nd. Batter bunted to pitcher. I think just like most other things, it depends on the nature, and sometimes character, of the coach. DD is deciding between 3 schools , 2 in the same conference. 1 coach didn't ask about other schools at all. I'd add that sometimes the girls are"burnt out" on mom or dad's overzealous attitude about softball. My DD walked away the fall of her sophmore year because she was tired of fighting with her dad about softball. HC was AC last season to a HC that was much more outspoken. I think it is just his nature to be more quiet and reserved.
