Help with arm circle
Been a long time since I've posted so here goes…Not an expert, just a bucketdad. My DD had the same problem when she move from 10U to 12U. Her PC recommended we do long toss. Walk up drill from 40', then 45', then 50' etc as far as she's able. Then back in till she's back at 40' off the...- Caldad

Fair or Foul Ball
Weird play. 1 out, runner on 3rd. Right hand batter takes full swing, hits ball, ball ends up a little in front of home plate, inside the foul line but is in the left hand hitters batter's box and stops. Blue calls foul ball. Leg Drive Help!!!
just a bucket dad, my DD ( 11) is working on her lower half as well (among other things). Something that helped her was being able to feel the effects of using the lower half versus all arms. Coach or mom... both???
Just a dad but IMHO. I agree with JJ, move her up. I'm assuming this is rec ball? She's not going to learn anything if no one else on her team can even remotely of keep up. If she can catch and throw the ball decently, that will already be ahead of the brand new 9 & 10s on a typical 10U rec...- Caldad

The joys of "bucket time"....
First pitching lesion for DD last summer, I was like "why do I need to catch, dang it I'm paying for this" but I sat my fat butt down on the bucket and I have not missed a pitching lesson nor a practice session with DD. Without going into the our PC is better than your PC (or Rec AC) rant, let's just say they both have the standard experience. The thing that mattered to me most was our PC continues to learn, attend clinics etc.. to keep his knowledge updated. He freely admits he was a HE coach till 5-6 years...- Caldad

@Gunner - I have a nice slightly dented Easton I'd like to hit him over the head with, instead of the tablet. LOL I would have assumed especially in rec ball that if a coach gets a pitcher with a PC, they be happy and take it as 1 less thing they need to teach the kids. Just tell us, she needs...- Caldad

Hello Elbow making me become 'That' Parent
Sorry for the long rant… DD is 11 & aged up to 12U rec ball this year to a new rec team. Did really well at try outs/evaulations and was the 1st pitcher drafted. Practices started and the 'pitching' AC had her warming up with wrist snaps and finish with the elbow pointed towards the catcher...- Caldad

@Coogansbluff - I agree with your open communications part, I guess my definition of daddy ball is a bit different. I guess we've just be very lucky so far and not have to deal with anything major from the coaches. Other parents, whole different story. =)- Caldad

Just a parent not a coach. I guess we've been lucky so far and had a pretty positive experience overall so haven't dealt with serious daddy ball yet. There wouldn't be any softball without coach dads/moms. All the time and effort the coaches put into the team is for the benefit of all the...- Caldad

Burn Out for Parents

Off Season finally here….Sigh……
Last night, DD asks to go pitch since she finished homework, so of course we went out in the dark using the backyard lights. Went back to basics as she's changing to the 12" ball. Going back to BM's I/R in classroom drills to start off and ending with a few softball stitch bruises on my shins...- Caldad

How to address Hello Elbow with PC
I'm just a bucketdad, played BB in HS but far from knowing anything about softball. I just went though the same thing a few months ago with my DD. My DD 10 started her lessions with PC back in June.
