OK Thx...

The video I added is the Matrix.... We took the technique to go thru what we are working on in slow-mo. First step... walking up to the plate... measure-up, losen-up....ect

Is it like a progression of drills. Backwards makes me think of rewinding a clip... Thx

Perfectcircle,

Anything can be done in the wrong manner. To me the matrix you showed is done in parts. The sequence doesn't flow well. With backwards training you can add on to the sequence it will flow from drill to drill depending on how much you break it down. Anything can be done incorrectly. So you have to have a keen eye.

CoachJD - Any updates? Have you been able to meet/practice with the new girls again?

Nothing with the total newbies yet, but I did have a private lesson with two girls I'm turning into slappers. We did about half footwork/bunting and about half swinging away. They have a lot of work to do since they're essentially building their LH swing from scratch. They're ahead of where the total greenhorns are, but we have a lot of work to do on the hitting sequence.

The hitting sequence, btw, is where I'm choosing to start. I have to translate a lot of more technical terms into something simpler for them, but everything I've learned over the past week or so tells me to start there.

I found this video that appears to identify pretty clearly a lot of issues I see from the inexperienced hitters (and even some with more experience) I've worked with lately. I'm not sure what everybody else thinks about it, but the way he demonstrates the wrong movement helps. I've seen a ton of videos/stills of the correct motion, but seeing a demonstration of what I see the girls do is giving me a sense of how to get from Point A to Point B, if for no other reason than it helps me "see" where the flaws are.

Uh oh, did I do something wrong? I don't know who the guy is, and I'm totally willing to listen to anybody who gives me good reasons why I shouldn't listen to him!

I'm sure someone will take issue with something he teaches. After all, what I've learned is that someone smart is always going to disagree with some other smart person on something when it comes to hitting. At least I'm beginning to recognize the people who are generally good at this.

Btw, sent you an email, Cannonball. Your PM box was full.
