You guys will argue anything, lol.

There does need to be some kind of ground reaction force to hit the ball hard, just not the same as baseball.

And rdbass, since your a hitting expert now, among everything else, maybe you can post an updated swing of your daughter??

Never claimed to be an 'expert' seems everytime I make a comment though you like to call me an 'expert' thanks.
Here are the swings of Laura you requested. Bash away Steve on my 14 year old DD coached by her dad.

SNF:

Sorry for getting off topic.

Swing's getting better, RDB! Something with her SnF I see is that she's still swinging around vs. swinging out. What's worked with my hitters is them getting the feel of throwing their momentum out toward the pitcher. My girls have to catch themselves with their outside leg after swinging or they'd fall right on their faces!

Keep up the good work with your DD!

Thanks,MountieSB. The 'swinging around' instead of 'out from' is something we are working on. To much rotation around instead of out from. We started with the Torgue drill when Laura was younger and at times I still see it in her swing. She needs lots more work, but we keep at it one day at a time. I blame the 'coach'.

Dd and I got in our cage for a few buckets today... I tried the split grip and an open stance... I think I hit 2 decent balls out of about 20... it throws my timing off horribly. This style requires a lot of practice to break the habits associated with a neutral stance and grip.

The hardest part when doing the SNF is being able to swing out from your body. Most want to swing around their bodies. This might help try Attack Opp. Set the tee up for outside pitches. Then practice hitting line drives opposite field. Helps with getting the 'feel' of swinging out from your body. Resist the shoulder rotation.

Picture the hitters feet 45/open and you get the feel.

Now take what you see above ... remove the plate ... and rotate everything 45-degrees. Hit line-drives to the back of the cage. Now remove the tee, maintain the 45-degree orientation, and have someone throw front-toss to you while you drive the ball back up the middle of the cage. Then repeat with the pitching machine set to normal pitching speed. Have fun!
