No not exactly, I think it is to feel the increase of pressure and then the comparable release of that pressure. The objective is to encourage the rear leg and hip to drive up under the back hip.

Thank you for the follow up Steve. I do appreciate these types of posts over spew type posts. Much appreciated.

Steve Huff answer this question:

Should the barrel be completely at the mercy of the shoulders rotation? Meaning it shouldn't move except by the rotation of the shoulders?

Rotation of the hips, core, causes the rotation of the shoulders. The shoulders and arm box are changing only as the bat knob comes forward, and the back elbow comes to the hip. Ideally, ideally, that is it. The more the bat stays connected during that process the better.

Because how am I to know what will come after? That would be like me saying, I know what redhotcoach's next question is going to be!

Or what Steve is going to change the question to after redhotcoach gives an answer. And then again and then again.

I am about to post of your earlier posts Steve, write "from redhotcoach", then watch you argue with yourself.

The barrel is launched rearward, which is what is necessary to maintain the connection being discussed.

For that to be true, some intentional act of the arms or wrists would create it. What are the wrists or arms doing to create launch as opposed to coming to connection. Connection has nothing to do with launch. The bat rotation is simply following the hand and elbow movement, which IS CREATED by the backside roation. The bat stays at the shoulder, or if a big load, come to the shoulder.

If indeed, launch is part of everything you are seeing. Why do Chris O'Leary and I, why do other coaches disagree with you. Why not just let you have your way? You discovered a new way to slice cheese? What is different about what Bonds is doing from that Coach Carrol MTS, Marcus?

Steve should be able to answer this correctly. He posted a link to Turtle Thomas talking about using the hands. Let's hope he doesn't dance around this question also.

Perhaps you can show me where I implied that. I said that baseball players lean back to get lift and hit the ball in the air. Softball players should swing neutral. Straight upper body, and their swings should not be designed to get under the pitch and lift it. You are not funny! Your insinuations are getting moronic.

your right...you didn't IMPLY it...you straight up said it!

Marcus asked:
Why are baseball and softball hitters different?
Your answer:
....Baseball only has one pitch plane; down! Softball has down and up. How do you hit a riseball leaning back?

SO once again I ask...do you believe softball players should be taught a different swing because of the rise ball?

Sorry, couldn't bite my tongue any further while seeing Steve stumble on what was obvious.

No stumble! If I am wrong, that would be persistent ignorance, not a stumble. But we will find out in the end won't we. It is the world against you few on this thread. And you see what you want to see even if it defies reality. Emotion and drama. Sounds like the "Anti-Rationalist Movement" of 1875-1895. I don't plan on being distracted by you people that long. You aren't worth it.

You accuse others of obfuscation and you write a post of slice cheese?

Are you trying to come off as foolish? Is this a comedy show to you?
