My DD, 9, just finished her fall-ball season and we're looking for some good conditioning drills that we can do during the winter so that we're prepared for the spring season. She wants to get more serious and eventually play TB but there is a lot of stuff we need to work on to get to that point. What are your off season workout routines? I'm looking for something that will include conditioning, speed and agility training, and hitting drills.

Thanks in advance,
Lynsey

Conditioning: Jump rope (varied routines, not just straight jumps), agility ladder, lunges, body-weight squats, burpees, planks, 5-dot drill.

Hitting: Long tee (not short tee into a net). Hit minimum 4 buckets of balls per workout, using exactly the same fundamentals as in a game, including load, stride, swing, extension, follow through. Also, hit as many front tossed balls as possible.

Throwing: Throw as much as possible. If it's too cold, try throwing a football she can handle well; maybe a Nerf ball with the fins. Doesn't sting the hands like a softball in cold weather.

PS: We have the hitter run to the balls she hit into the outfield and throw them to 2nd. The person at 2nd puts them back in the bucket.
