We complain about them but lets face it. Without them we wouldn't have a game.
Here is a link to an article on a guy who was enshrined in the Michigan NSA hall of fame as an umpire. Not mentioned in the article is that this is the second HOF he is in. I used to work with him and he officiated every sport he could. One year he did both a HS State Final SB game and a HS State championship football game as well. Baseball, Softball, Football, Off ice official for hockey, volleyball... One of the best. Not saying he is old but he has shin guards older then most of us. (an inside joke with everyone he knows) Congratulations Don.
