We live in a populated area so you can play travel ball without traveling very far, it is a way to get like minded players and parents together.

She, and you at this age, need to enjoy softball. Some long weekends, some longer then others. 7 AM games on the weekend suck when your previous game was at 8 pm the previous night. I have routed for other Team sometimes.

I call total BS on a 12U hitting 60. IT might look fast but you'd have college coaches there if she was 60mph.

It's rare but there are pitchers that are very fast. The best pitchers my DD has played against:

8u - top speed 46mph (now verballed to Stanford)
10u - top speed 57mph (faced her in semi at nationals)
12u - high 50's, great screwball (verballed to Arizona)
14u - low 60's (verballed to Arizona State University)

With that said, I have gunned dozens and dozens of pitchers at 14u & 16u SoCal tournaments and the average is around mid 50's.
