If it's not windy, 49 is not too cold IMO. I mean, we've played games in temps right around freezing before. They survived. 49 is way warmer than that. But 49 and windy feels way colder.
If we didn't practice below 49° we would never practice! 49° is a heatwave for spring in this part of the country-we played Saturday in 45° temps with 25mph winds....

Early November morning games around here will generally be in the lower 40s. 49 is definitely not too cold. IMHO if the wind chill is above freezing you can be outside. Just make sure everybody wears layers.
