May I suggest setting the proper tone with potential suitors by answering the door sporting a 5 day beard, a dirty wife beater while holding a half empty bottle of Jack in one hand and a stainless steel meat cleaver in the other. Remember that with regard to young males, crazy typically trumps well armed. Of course once they know you are crazy and well armed...

I saw on another forum, an Indian (as in Native American) guy would bring in potential suitors for a nice friendly chat, and would just happen to sharpen his tomahawks and knives during the chat.

So far only one problem with any of my kids' suitors. One time DD 2 brought a guy over, and he didn't eat enough of DW's cooking. DW was not pleased. That was the last time he was over.

I'm feeling very old.

In the next few weeks --

DS will move into his first apartment, renting with some of his rowing buddies in Milwaukee, and will live there his jr year of college. Moves in later this month.
DD 1 will move into a dorm a few miles away, rooming with a girl who lives a few blocks from here. They are starting freshmen in college at UW Madison. Move in day a few days after DS moves in.
DD 2 gets her learner's permit TODAY. I will go to the DMV as soon as I post this. Pray for our safety.
DD 3 starts as a freshman in HS, school starts September 1.
