BTW, upon hearing her statement, UCONN basketball coach Geno Auriemma gave her a call to wish her well. Let's hope that didn't cost her any eligibility.

As I suspected, Geno was, in fact, reported for making that call:

From the article - The objecting school has not been identified, but the Courant reported that Connecticut does not believe it was a violation because Davis, an eighth-grader, is not yet a prospective student-athlete.

The NCAA defines a prospective student-athlete as "a student who has started classes for the ninth grade."

Looks like the AD or whoever filed the complaint needs a refresher course.
