Known Speed X Distance / Distance - 1 = percieved velocity?

So a 50MPH pitch released at 36 feet would have the same reaction time as of 51.3888 mph pitch released at 37 feet.
That makes sense. I assume for distance you’d subtract say 2 feet or whatever given the difference in where the hip is versus stride foot.

I’d think once you go past a natural step length, that the hip to foot distance should remain the same thereafter, since pitchers get to a stacked hip position.
