1. The rule is that a batter gets at most a single UNLESS the the ball reaches the outfield grass. If it does, the batter gets one additional base. It's a good rule for this age. My DGD finally hit one through the infield and into the outfield. I was coaching 1B. She came thundering down the 1B line and I told her to go on to 2B. She came to a full stop, looked around and said, "Who, me?"
2. There is a really cute kindergartner on the team...red hair and blue eyes, just a doll. Anyway, a bunch of turkey buzzards were roosting over in the trees, and they started flying around. She yells out "Look at the birdies!" The entire 1B side of the infield, including the base runners, looked up in unison to watch the birds.
