Rocker step - why left foot in front?

Another reason for the left foot to be in front is that if one started with her right foot on front and on the back/outside of the bag, she is susceptible to tripping herself up on the base when she brings her left foot through. It happens. It probably shouldn't happen...buuuut, it happens.

you know, this is so simple it has to be THE reason to start with the left foot forward. I don't think the difference between starting with one foot or the other will make a difference as far as getting to the next base ahead of the ball. Apparently I was overthinking this too.
