Point of contact on bat

Where is the ideal point that the softball makes contact with the bat. The hitting coach says that it is 1 to 2 inches from the end of the bat. That seem too close to the end of the bat. Does anyone know the sweet spot?

You should be able to bounce a ball off it to find the sweet spot, might be me but it seems like every bat is a little different.

They are all different BUT 1-2inches of the cap is not optimum 3-10 inch range is more reasonable and better represents the meat of the barrel.

1-2"???? Not usually
Its gonna be a shade different on every brand. But its usually between 4-9" down off the end cap
