Bottom of fence is 190-195 But ball need to be hit farther to clear the top ( 204+)
If the top of a 10' fence is 204' from home, the bottom of the fence is approximately 203.66' from home. Sounds like normal softball field dimensions.

Not here.
Either way it's really SHORT
Why do you care.....
Only gave her a couple pitches and one was in the parking lot, the other on the road.
Apparently your DD is hitting them 300 plus feet. I hope they move the cars and shut the road down when your DD is batting.

I am not a math guy, lol, took my golf range finder and top of the fence measured 204, was told they were placed at 190ft. I don't know how that figures

The math doesn't figure if your range finder is accurate.

Comocoach is correct if your range finder is accurate. Actually the exact measurement should be 203.7547545 feet from the plate to the bottom of the fence. LOL ;)

Pythagorean Theorem says = a^2 + b^2 = c^2 therefore; 204^2 - 10^2 = 203.75'

Seems like the field is setup pretty normal for H.S. softball.

DD's home field is 190 down the lines with a 6' fence, she does not throw many riseballs.

NFHS recommendations are 185’-235’. Most HS fields are 200’, often 190’ down the line and about a 4’-5’ fence. It’s rare to see more than a 200’ fence in HS. Your field is about average, especially with the 10’ fence.
