I am looking for a new bat for my 10u DD. I don't want a million dollar bat, but I am looking for a good one. I would like to keep it between 150-200. If possible. Any ideas?

At this age you are going to get roped into the length vs. drop game which is why her size is important. What size bat she is currently swinging would be interesting too.

There are a lot of good bats under $200 some are:

Miken Rain (-12)
Miken Halo (-12.5)
Demarini Bustos (-13)

These all have large drops and might not be right for your DD which is why the opinions are going to change based on her size.

I was looking around and my favorite bat that I am going to get DD:

-11 Fastpitch Bat
-11 length (19") to weight (30 oz) ratio

I would go for the Miken Freak Lite or Regular. My DD loves her Mikens. She used to swing a -10 Rain, now swinging a -10 Freak NXT.

It also depends where you want to buy the bat. If you don't mind buying it online or even on eBay, you can get a lot more bat for $150-200 that you can from a brick and mortar store.

If she's a strong 10U, I'd try to get her a drop 10. A decent 30/20 is a great bat to have at 10U. It depends upon her size. If she's of a slighter build, you're probably looking for a drop 11 or 12.

Get a blemished bat, or cheaper bat to start. They out grow them so fast. Been there. Friend of mine with younger Dd's bought all my used bats for 1/4 of what I paid.
I was wondering why he liked me so much.

Spend the extra money on learning good mechanics

She is about 4 feet 10 inches and just about 90 lbs. Right now she is swing ing a cheap bat. 30/17. I think she is getting to the point where she her mechanics arent to bad and she needs a quality bat to see h
er effort pay off.

The 2012 version of the DeMarini CF5 is right at the top of your price range. The smallest I saw was 31/21 which is a fairly large change from her current bat but your DD should be able to handle it. If possible have her swing a 31/21 in any model and see how she does before getting this one.

(DD is a year older than yours and we got her first real bat at the exact same time as your DD. She started a mini buying spree on her Team, I was surprised at the difference a bat made.)
