Playing a 5 game minimum Memorial Day tournament. Our pool games are 6 PM on Friday, then 7:30 AM Saturday, then 4:15 PM Saturday, then 7:30 AM Sunday. Depending upon where we seed our first bracket game will either be Sunday at 2:15 PM or 4:00 PM. The fields are about 1.5 hours away so it doesn't make sense to drive back between games. Guess I will finally have a chance to tryout the zero gravity chair I got as a Christmas present.

Wait until you get rained out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and then play 45 minute "sudden death" single elimination on Monday.
Got pool times on a Tuesday?? Dang, we usually don't get ours til Wednesday or Thursday, then they change them all over again on Friday.
We have one Sanction Director I try to avoid, his tourneys are very unorganized. But have several around here that are great.

I sooo feel your pain. The same guy runs our USSSA tournaments in our area and everyone we go to whether it is 20mins away or 1Hr he gives us the 7:30 or 8:00 game. What does he have against us?? UUGGH!! In the past we use to drive there the night before and spend the night in a hotel but to be honest, the girls dont sleep...so we are better off getting up early!
I guess they consider 1.5 hours 'local'
At least you get Monday games. Our schedule this weekend; 4GG 3 Pool games on Sat 9:00 - 11:00 - 5:00 then 1st Bracket Games Sat night at 7:00. Field is an hour away. Sunday games start at 9:00.
I've got to admit we actually have a decent schedule this weekend. We're 4 hours away, 7 GG. Sat. 8:30, 10:00 and 2:30. Sunday 8:30, 1:00 and 2:30. Bracket play starts either 7:30 or 9:00 pm Sunday. Let's just hope the girls bring their bats this weekend. They seemed to have lost them halfway through last weekend's tourney.
Yep, we are in the same county as the tournament. The irony is several of the out of county participants are 10 minutes away from the fields. Given that I will be leaving at 5 in the morning the actual drive time will be about 1 hour since there will be little traffic at that time.
that is what travel trailers are for, a nice air-conditioned nap. And a place for your girls to stay cool while others are getting tired from being exposed to heat all day.
