Is my DD's bat a lost cause?

So the other day I was inspecting my DD's bats and noticed this chip in her Stealth. She doesn't know how it happened or how long its been there. The chip is about a quarter-inch in diameter and feels to be surface only. Is this something that will get the bat pulled at tournament? If so, is there any way to fix it? Thanks

The outer paint layer is seperate from the internal fiberous construction of the bat. It should be fine.

This looks like what happens when batters knock the dirt out of their cleats......
